Hey guys!
I'll be flipping the redemption of sire cards back on within the hour. The problem actually "fixed itself" when the game updated to the new year, but I did find and repair the code that would cause this to occur next year. The problems began occurring on the 19th, when I made an update to the sire file. It was caused by a flag in my file that says the last year a horse can breed. It was looking for equal (which worked up until I updated the sire file for the new year), but should have been looking for >= (it shouldn't happen again this year with the update). So the only sires it was divvying out were sires that I had marked as retired between last year and this year. Since many of the best sires like Scat Daddy were used so much, they would have been very hard to get; the limited number of sires corrupted the pool a bit and only gave out a very small variance. Once the new year rolled over, the program worked as expected anyway, since the last year breeding did equal the current year. So.. In all there were 84 sire cards redeemed for sires between December 19th and December 31st. I will be refunding those cards back to people; be looking for them over the next day or so (I need to make sure I do this right - it's a bit tricky, since it ties back to actual draws. it's not as easy as just crediting cards back like I can do with credits and points). On a related note, a different algorithm is used when redeeming 4 cards for a horse, which is why I allowed this feature to stay active during the end of year. And if you still can't redeem your cards after an hour, you may have to dump your cache and close your browser. :) Sorry for the issues! --Mike [UPDATE - The 84x2 cards have been added back to the stables that redeemed them for sires during that time (I misspoke earlier - there were 84 REDEMPTIONS, so double the cards). The cards will appear as unclaimed, but they will be the same card levels you used when acquiring the sire share] Edited by administrator - 02 Jan 2016 at 8:44pm |
